WAXING FAQS

  • Your hair should be about 1/4 – 1/2 inch long for best results. If you have coarse hair it should be closer to 1/2-inch for the first few waxes. Once the hair becomes finer it can be waxed at a shorter length. It may take up to three waxing treatments to achieve smooth skin because hair grows in stages is never at the same stage. It is very important to avoid shaving between waxing appointments, as this will interrupt the process and stimulate the hair growth again.

  • Yes! Please do NOT wax if you’re on any sort of medication that warns against sun sensitivity. Your skin can and will come off. Acutane, Retin A, Differen can affect the thickness of your skin. Please consult with us before your wax treatment if you’re taking any medications.

  • Frequent wax clients can last up to 3-4 weeks. Most people book their waxing every 4 weeks, with the last week being their week of growth. Your hair grows in cycles, and not all follicles are in the same cycle.

  • No! Please do not shave between waxing appointments! It disrupts the hair growth cycle resulting in more hair at your next appointment.

  • We recommend exfoliating 2-3 times a week. Whether you use a body scrub, or any form of mechanical exfoliation – this will keep your follicles free of buildup and it’s the best way to stop those pesky ingrown hairs.

  • Yes! Our ingrown treatment is done 4-5 days after a Brazilian/Tahitian wax or shave to maintain skins health in your nether regions. Extractions are done to get rid of pesky ingrown hairs and bumps. .

  • Waxing reduces hair growth when performed at every four weeks. While shaving crops the hair at the skin's surface, waxing pulls it out by the root, so it grows back softer, finer, and thinner. Waxing is great for those who are tired of the hassle of shaving several times per week. The more you wax, the less hair grows back.

  • With frequent waxing, the hair follicles get weaker and weaker. This is good – your hair will grow back slower, and thinner! Years of waxing can reduce hair growth by a SIGNIFICANT amount!

BROW HENNA FAQS

  • The art of Henna has been a method of body design for over 5,000 years. Originally used in hot or desert countries as a method of cooling down their bodies as the Henna plant contains natural cooling properties.

The Henna plant (Lawsonia Inermis) is a flowering plant that grows near 15 feet high. Henna grown in hot climates contains more dye pigment and produces the best quality Henna when grown in a favorable environment. The stain that is achievable from a good quality henna sources from hot and dry climates will stain the skin the darkest and last the longest.

  • Henna is extracted from the fibers of the henna plant. Henna encourages hair growth, acting as a skin and hair conditioner as well as a dye treatment.

  • Brow Henna is a natural alternative to tinting that is filed with antioxidants, a vitamin complex and hydrolysed proteins. This helps to strengthen and restore brow hair growth and improves the condition of the hair.

Brow Henna is vegan, cruelty-free, lasts up to 14 days on the skin, lasts up to six weeks on the hair, and no ammonia, lead or peroxide.

  • Aside from Henna being a naturally derived product, Henna does not require an oxidizing agent to penetrate the cortex and deposit color into the hair. Instead Henna acts to coat the hair with the color, smoothing the outer layers of the brow hairs giving the appearance of thicker and darker hair.

Eyebrow tinting lasts up to four weeks on the hair and Henna can last six to seven weeks on the hair.

  • Yes, henna is a natural ingredient. There is a small chance that an allergic reaction could occur during the treatment. We would strongly recommend coming in 24 hours prior to your appointment for a sensitivity patch test. If you experience any discomfort during that time, please let us know. A sensitivity patch test is highly recommended if you have a strong history of allergic reactions.

  • If you have an existing cosmetic tattoo, you can try the Henna treatment to freshen your brows. Henna stains the skin surface and hair follicles but does not interfere with any pigment underneath the skin.

  • Henna Brows is a fantastic option for a less permanent brow enhancement, especially if you are debating whether or not to take the plunge into cosmetic tattoo. Henna Brows can give you a realistic look into the brow shape and depth of color allowed by cosmetic tattoo.

Be sure to communicate with your esthetician during the facial if any product burns, itches, or if you need anything or have any questions. Otherwise, just lie back and enjoy the experience. A basic facial generally includes the following steps:

Massage of the face and neck, to aid in relaxation and stimulate blood and oxygen flow to the skin

Extraction of blackheads and other impurities, either manually (using gloved hands and cotton or tissue around the fingers with gentle pressure to remove the impacted pore) or using a metal extraction implement designed to clear blocked pores.

Application of products targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, mixed, sensitive, or mature).*
